Charges Module

The Charges Module lets you:

  • Create and submit claims and statements
  • Create, view, and print patient bills
  • Link charge codes to actual charges
  • Close/balance facilities

After creating an encounter, the system automatically navigates to the Charges option of the Charges module. Charges Module - Create/Edit Charges

The Code Search buttons lets you search for charge codes by CPT or practice-specific coding.

The Descriptions button lets you view the charge code and description as well as the CPT code, modifier, and descriptions for charges entered on the page.

Use Get Fees to populate the fees associated with the charges you have entered without using the Code Search button.

Use the Claims option to view a list of claims to make claims management easy.

You may view claims with the form (see sample form below) and information or you may view the information separately. The Action column gives you the ability to view, edit, delete, or submit the claim.

Claim Entry is accomplished through a three-part Claim Wizard.

1. First you select the encounter for which claim is being created.

2. Next the ICD9 diagnosis code is entered and linked with the CPT code. Additional modifiers may be entered on an individual basis.

3. You can then view or edit additional HCFA fields specific to Workers Comp or personal injury claims or select the disposition of the claim. You can place the claim on hold, save for paper, or save to submit electronically.

Use the Bills option to enter payments received at the time of visit. You can create, view, and print patient's bills.

Charges Module - Patient Bills Page

The co-insurance, co-pay, and deductible information is visible on the left side of the page for reference when accepting a payment.

After you enter the patient payment information and click Post Payment, a Patient Receipt/ Walk-Out Statement displays. You can select Print or Create Claim

Use the Statements option to create statements. Any messages on a patient's statement may be customized per facility preference - whether it be a Dunning message or specific information about your office.

The Closing option mimics client-server functionality without the limitations. Your encounters are closed for editing daily on a pre-determined basis, however, you can still access reporting.
